Rielly and Marner get heated at Leafs practice
The incident reportedly occurred when Maple Leafs defensemen Morgan Rielly unleashed a shot from the point during a drill that struck Marner. The collision prompted a heated exchange between the two players.
Despite the apparent disagreement, both Rielly and Marner downplayed any serious conflict between them.
"We're not getting into that, are we? There's nothing. I'm joking with him all day," Marner asserted. "Nothing happened. It was fine. We were joking and having fun with each other, that's what we do."
Rielly, when asked the same question, affirmed that there was no issue:
"That was the question," Marner interjected once again. "I said nothing went on. I said I was chirping you about that shot, and we were having a good laugh, and we're buddies."
With both players emphasizing their camaraderie and dismissing any lingering tension, maybe they are stressed about
Connor Bedard, the rookie sensation in search for a big game today. The Maple Leafs are set to face the Chicago Blackhawks later today in the Windy City.
