It's no secret that hockey players sometimes kick a soccer ball around before games. The balance, precision, and communication easily translate to hockey. Footwork is essential, and the ability to pass a puck between your stick and your skates can make all the difference in a game-winning goal.
So of course, when given the opportunity to work with former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Čech, the Blackhawks jumped at the chance.

Petr Čech is no stranger to hockey, as he know (at age 40) is the goaltender for the Chelmsford Chieftains. Before the ice, he was a multi-award winning footballer. Čech holds a number of goalkeeping records, including the Premier League record for fewest appearances required to reach 100 clean sheets (aka shutouts), having done so in 180 appearances, the most clean sheets in a season (24), as well as the record for the most clean sheets in Premier League history(202). He most notably played for Chelsea from 2004-2015, and then Arsenal from 2015-2019. Čech signed with the Guilford Phoenix of the National Ice Hockey League Division 2 in October of 2019, and chose number 39 for his jersey in honor of Dominik Hašek.

Reprising his role as goalkeeper, Čech took a couple shots from the team. While we didn't get a goalie goal on him, our Captain was able to fake out the legend and score.

Seth Jones - goalie? (Don't quit your day job, kid!)
