The Blackhawks are set on goalies for the future. They have Drew Commesso and Arvid Soderblom. However, Soderblom was in need of a new contract. Well, he isn't in need of one anymore.

The Blackhawks announced today the resigning of goalie Arvid Soderblom to a 2-year $962,000 AAV deal.

Arvid was born in Sweden and is 23 years old. Soderblom had a 3.45 GAA and a .894 SV% up in the NHL this season, but went back down to his good numbers when he got sent back down to Rockford (2.92 GAA, .905 SV%.) Commesso won't be brought up for a couple of years. However, Soderblom could be a suitable backup for starter Petr Mrazek, maybe even take over the starting position.

If Soderblom can continue what he's doing with the Icehogs, he'll have a good NHL career.
