40 Years Ago Today Marks a Very Special Moment in Blackhawks History
Today marks a great memory in Chicago Blackhawks history, as it was on April 14, 1983, when the team beat the North Stars 5-2 in Game 1 of the Norris Division finals.
The Blackhawks were led to victory by Curt Fraser, Denis Savard, and Doug Wilson, who all scored late third period goals to give the team a 1-0 series lead. This was a significant win for the Blackhawks, who were looking to make a deep playoff run.
The team would eventually make it to the conference finals that year but would fall to the Edmonton Oilers. However, the memory of this important victory lives on in the hearts of Blackhawks fans everywhere.
