Detroit Red Wings Have The Wrong Priority?
The Detroit Red Wings needed to compete in the postseason, so they signed Patrick Kane.
In addition, the team did something for the first time in their history, for better or worse.
Their jersey sponsor turned out to be a waste-management company named "Priority, in Macomb County, Michigan.
This is a multi-year deal with patches on home and away jerseys, which is bad news for the Wings.
Not only did they ruin their iconic uniforms, but their record since putting the patch on the jersey has also been dismal.
The team has gone 0-4 since debuting the patch against the New York Islanders on February 29th.
The last win was against the Chicago Blackhawks on February 25th, the day after Chris Chelios' jersey was retired.
In the end, did the team have to do this? It doesn't seem so, but that won't stop owners from digging their greasy fingers into easy money.
Maybe it should be a priority to dump the patch itself.
