A group of reporters spoke to Bedard after the team completed their practice and began to question him about the effectiveness of the Blackhawks slingshot power play scheme. After a pause, Bedard explained that not every power play is perfect, but he feels that this style certainly will bode well for the Blackhawks.
At times during the interview, it appeared that Bedard seemed a little annoyed with some of the questioning as he was trying to remain poised and give positive vibes to his head coach and his systems.
The Blackhawks have been working on their game and their systems as training camp continues and the season is just on the horizon. It's likely over the next few days there will the cuts to the roster as Richardson and his staff begin to mold the 2024 edition of the Blackhawks.
In Bedard's case, this will be his second year in the NHL with a much better Blackhawks team around him as general manager Kyle Davidson went on a spending spree over the summer and acquired several free agents to help bolster the lineup and to begin to move the needle out from under the basement of the NHL standings.
With the improved lineup and another year ahead for the budding superstar, Many hope that he could build off his Calder winning season and take his game to the next level.
The Blackhawks will be on the road to open a home and home series against the Minnesota Wild. Game time will be on October 1st 8:00 PM eastern.
