Chicago Blackhawks' Kyle Davidson continues offseason steal of deals with signing of Spencer Knight
The Chicago Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson continued his offseason of deals with the signing of Spencer Knight.
Over the past years, Davidson has built an impressive prospect pool. He drafted several great prospects who are expected to be ready to take another step in their development this season.
But he also added a massive piece in the rebuild: a number one goalie in Spencer Knight.
Earlier today, the Hawks announced that Knight signed a contract extension in Chicago.

While he didn't make many additions during the summer, Davidson was working on other issues: signing his top players.
"After joining the team in March, Spencer quickly cemented himself as a crucial piece of our future. A talented, young goaltender, he brings athleticism, sound positioning, and a calm demeanor to his game, and we're excited to watch Spencer continue to flourish in Chicago over the next four seasons."
Knight, 24, took part in 38 games last season for the Panthers and the Blackhawks. He won 17 games, had two shutouts, a 2.72 GAA, and a .902 SV%. He also won the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers in 2024, although he didn't play a game in the playoffs.
With
Alex Vlasic, Nazar, and now Knight, the only one left to put under a long-term contract is the main piece of the rebuild: Connor Bedard.
