The Chicago Blackhawks made a big move by drafting Connor Bedard in the off-season.

He is expected to be the team's next workhorse and superstar. However, the team has been plagued by multiple injuries, and as a result, they have negatively made history.

The team has experienced their second-longest scoring dry spell, with only 17 goals in 13 games during the 2024-2025 season.

This scoring drought is second behind the team's dry spell in 1957.

In addition, the Blackhawks are currently 3-10-0 and have lost 19 games on the road. They have given up 0-18-1, which is a miserable statistic.

The team is in a bleak mood because they cannot seem to convert their chances lately. The game against Edmonton demonstrated a lack of finish, and the Blackhawks would go on to be shut out by the Oilers. The team is currently in a rebuilding phase and is not having a great season, unlike the Oilers. The Blackhawks have been terrible in every offensive metric this season and have hit rock bottom since January.

The team has relied on Jason Dickinson to be their top scorer, with 7 points in 13 games in January. Colin Blackwell and Boris Katchouk have also posted 5 points each.

Perhaps Head Coach Luke Richardson could consider giving the defense more leeway and let them get into on a rush more often, as the team has been defensively sound as of late.

All the while, the team has had a great PK at 88.2%, killing off 30 or 34 powerplays and allowing the ninth fewest scoring chance in the league.

But Richardson will have to figure out something soon, as this losing streak shouldn't continue.
