Landon DuPont is the latest defenseman to be granted exceptional status in the WHL.
He is the second player overall to be granted this status by the WHL by Hockey Canada.
DuPont is a 15-year old, who will be able to play in the WHL full-time next season, and the only other player to be granted this status in the WHL prior was:
Bedard would contact DuPont to offer him words of support and send the 15-year-old Calgary-born defenseman a video message.
This caused him to almost black out in excitement, as he named Bedard as a role model.
Connor Bedard's renown expands far beyond the NHL, and even his old stamping grounds in the WHL.
Bedard's influence among young hockey players and fans is massive and Gary Bettman continues to ignore his influence.
However, it doesn't seem like an issue, as Bedard knows his audience and does outreach on his own, NHL be damned.
He continues to be an example to others, of how to treat your fellow competitors, fans, and players worldwide.
