Anticipated to be a top selection in 2027, 14-year-old defenseman Landon DuPont has recently made headlines by surpassing one of Connor Bedard's records.

Connor Bedard is a familiar name to many, however, prior to his NHL success, he made waves as the first WHL player to be granted exceptional status, but now there is a new record holder. His name is Landon DuPont. DuPont comes from Calgary Alberta and the WHL has accepted the 14 year old as the second exceptional status player.

Let's take a look at some clips below that show just how exceptional DuPont is

The draft will not be an option for DuPont until 2027. Nevertheless, he will eventually have to deal with the expectations that come with being a former exceptional status player and a potential top selection.
