Blackhawks announce signing of former rival heavy-hitting player

The Chicago Blackhawks have made a great signing, that will add depth to their roster.

That player was Cavan Fitzgerald who will be added to the ranks, as he joins the Rockford IceHogs, coming from the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
Fitzgerald will join the Blackhawks affiliate IceHogs on a PTO in the AHL.
The 28-year-old defenseman spent the last four seasons with the Wolves, posting a career-high 27 points( 12 G, 15 A) in 2023-2024.
He was a part of the Wolves team in 2022, which captured the Calder Cup Trophy, scoring 10 points( 3 G, 7 A) and a +21 in 53 games, with 6 points( 1 G, 5 A) in 17 playoff games with the Wolves.
The 6'1" 200-pound heavy-hitting defenseman also served as Alternate Captain during his time with the Wolves.
Prior to his arrival in Chicago, he played in San Jose with the Barracuda and one season with the Charlotte Checkers.
In seven AHL seasons, he has scored 96 points( 33 G, 63 A) in 310 games.
