Patrick Kane is reportedly heading home.

The past several months have brought significant changes to Patrick Kane's life, ever since he was a Chicago Blackhawk just six months ago. The Blackhawks chose to part ways with both Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, steering toward a new direction under the leadership of their first overall draft pick, Connor Bedard.

Following the New York Rangers' loss in last year's playoffs, Kane underwent hip resurfacing surgery, with a projected recovery time of four to six months. Since then, he has been making good progress and is expected to return to the NHL shortly.

Several teams have been rumoured to be interested in making offers for Kane, but one team, in particular, has been gaining more attention: the Buffalo Sabres. According to Darren Dreger on Sabres Live, the team has shown tremendous interest in signing the 34-year-old winger.




Currently, the Sabres have $8.77 million in cap space, which should be more than sufficient to accommodate Kane's contract requirements. It is reasonable to anticipate that the Sabres would aim to secure him for at least two years, as the team is gearing up for a playoff push.

One noteworthy aspect of Kane's potential signing with the Sabres is his hometown connection. Many NHL players have returned to their home cities to play in front of the crowds they grew up with, often with friends and family in attendance. This could be a significant factor influencing Kane's decision.
