Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's comments on Canadian immigrants mirror the language that resulted in Don Cherry's dismissal in 2019.

Back in 2019, Don Cherry, a longstanding CBC broadcaster, faced termination from his role as an analyst on Hockey Night in Canada due to his use of the phrase 'you people' when referring to new Canadians who neglected to wear a poppy for Remembrance Day. Cherry not only lost his position, his longtime broadcast partner Ron MacLean refused to take his side.

Now PM Justin Trudeau has used similar language which has people thinking 'double standards much?'.

Justin Trudeau speaks with the media about Canada's ongoing immigration issues, and calls recent Canadian immigrants 'those people'

What is Cherry up to now?

Don Cherry recently celebrated his 90th birthday with MacLean, who uploaded a photo of the two of them together, taken during the birthday bash at his home in Mississauga, Ontario. Surprisingly it looks like the two have worked things through!. Cherry and his son Tim Cherry team up for a weekly podcast called 'Don Cherry's Grapevine Podcast,' a nod to his past television show 'Grapevine' which aired from 1982 to 1993.
