Former Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane seems to have found the fountain of youth with his play this season as he has returned from hip surgery that kept him from the lineup through the first 30 games of the year.

Now as a member of the Detroit Red Wings, the team is enjoying this windfall as his numbers and percentages posted by Jfresh hockey have been outstanding.

As the Red Wings continue to battle for a playoff spot and are currently sitting in a wild card, Kane, has played 40 games, scoring 16 goals with 23 assists and 39 points while holding 18 minutes and four seconds of ice time on average. Without this offensive output and the fact that Dylan Larkin had remained sidelined for many weeks, this has helped keep the Red Wings in the hunt and now with Larkin back gives the Red Wings a chance to solidify their spot.

The three-time Stanley Cup champ with the Blackhawks decided to join the Red Wings for the remainder of the year and now general manager Steve Yzerman will have a difficult decision on whether to retain him long term or put him on a shorter-term deal. It will also come down to the money and how much they're willing to pay.

There is an expectation that many teams will line up for his services next year so it remains to be seen on whether he will stay with the Red Wings or become an unrestricted free agent.
