The Chicago Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman rolled the dice and signed goalie Robin Lehner to a one year deal this summer. There didn't seem to be many takers for Lehner so the Blackhawks and Lehner agreed to a one year/$5million deal. The gamble has paid off as Lehner and Corey Crawford have pushed each other for starts throughout the season and Lehner currently has a 13-7-4 record along with a 2.88 goals against average and .923 save percentage. Lehner recently revealed to the media that he wouldn't be willing to take a hometown discount and wants to get paid fair market value. So what is that fair market value?Scott Powers of The Athletic put together some comparisons and spoke to a couple of executives around the league. Powers believes that Lehner will likely be looking for a deal that pays him in the $7-8million range. Both Lehner and Crawford are UFA after this season and it would make more sense for the Hawks to let the 35 year old Crawford walk and keep the younger 28 year old Lehner around. Would you be willing to dish out this kind of money for Lehner?
