"As the Chicago Blackhawks prepare for the NHL Draft tonight and free agency next week, the ugly story regarding the sexual abuse by former video coach Bruce Aldrich isn't going away. While the Blackhawks seem they would prefer to sweep it under the rug, the details just get more and more disturbing. The latest details are very ugly. Warning before you check out some of the recent details, it's very graphic and disturbing. In the John Doe 1 case, further details of the player's alleged sexual assault by Aldrich were included in the amended complaint. The plaintiff alleges around May of 2010 the player was invited to Aldrich's apartment to watch video clips, and Aldrich had turned on pornography and began masturbating in front of the player.
When the player attempted to leave, Aldrich allegedly «blocked the only exit from the apartment, grabbed a souvenir Cubs bat from his wall, and physically threatened the Plaintiff with the small bat.» Aldrich also allegedly ejaculated on the player while the player «was paralyzed with fear» and threatened that the player would never play in the NHL if he didn't engage in the sexual activity...The amendment additionally alleges John Doe 1 was «subjected to humiliating trash-talking by his teammates during scrimmages where coaches were present» after making the sexual assault accusation toward Aldrich. The player was allegedly harassed with an assortment of homophobic slurs.This definitely doesn't make the Hawks look good as everybody including players and management have repeated over and over that they were not aware of anything.
