"On Wednesday we heard that the Chicago Blackhawks will likely trade forward Artem Anisimov at the upcoming trade deadline. Despite the Hawks' currently fighting for a playoff spot, general manager Stan Bowman is looking to unload some contracts. Anisimov hasn't been the same player since Artemi Panarin was traded and was never able to carry over the chemistry with Patrick Kane after the trade. His ice time has gone down and he currently centers the team's third line between Brandon Saad and Dylan Sikura. NHL insider Bob McKenzie chimed in on the Anisimov rumors on Thursday. McKenzie agrees that the Hawks will try and move Anisimov at the deadline, and it's not a hard decision at the moment the way Dylan Strome has played lately. Anisimov's contract runs through the 2020-21 season at a cap hit of $4.55million per season, the 30 year old carries a modified no trade clause that allows him to block a trade to a list of 10 teams.
Wouldn't surprise me if CHI tries to find a new home for Anisimov now that D Strome is playing so well as a second-line centre. https://t.co/syBJMMqEia — Bob McKenzie (@TSNBobMcKenzie) February 14, 2019
