Brendan Shanahan, a former player who was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in his heyday, currently serves as the Leafs president of hockey operations. The Toronto Maple Leafs were rumoured to be changing the team's goal song, and many fans were thrilled about the possibility. However, Brendan Shanahan is believed to have rejected the suggestion since he and his children adore the current goal songs.
That is not all, now it appears as if Shanahan is taking a little piece of freedom away from the Maple Leafs, by banning an alcoholic beverage from the locker room, one of the most common beverages used to celebrate.
According to recent rumours, Shanahan has made pledged to ban beer around his locker room, and has disallowed the alcoholic drink. When Mitch Marner surpassed the franchise record for the longest point streak, many fans observed that the "beer showers" that many teams use to mark significant occasions were actually simply water.
