To build the best depth units, Kyle Dubas has brought in more talent to compete for the Penguins' bottom-six.
Among those he signed was winger Austin Wagner, who played 7 games for the Chicago Blackhawks last season.
While Wagner isn't a superstar offensively, he is an excellent forechecker, which is what NHL teams need on their last two lines. In 178 NHL games, Wagner has scored 23 goals and 19 assists. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round of the 2015 draft.
So far, his best performance in the NHL has been in 2018-2019, when he scored 12 goals and registered 21 points in 62 games.
Along with Lars Eller, Noel Acciari, Matt Nieto and Rem Pitlick, Wagner will be competing for a depth role.
