Shane Wright Scores Nice Goal....On HIs Own Net!
This one really just adds to the unfortunate season that Shane Wright has had up to this point. Before this, it was a bad preseason followed by two different poor stints in the regular season.
Between his poor NHL appearances, he was sent down to the AHL, where he actually did very well.
Though, he did well in the AHL, he did not perform when recalled to the NHL, and because of that he will be sent to the junior level to finish out the season after the conclusion of the WJC.
In the WJC, he is playing for Team Canada, and he notched a goal in their last tune-up game against Slovakia. This issue here, though, is that he scored the goal on his own net.
Wright has to be feeling bad for his fellow teammate, Ben Gaudreau, who was in net for this own goal.
Following the game, the two were able to laugh it off, and Wright told Gaudreau that he owes him dinner later this week.
