Rare Occurrence Takes Place During NHL Affiliates Hockey Game

Wednesday's American Hockey League game began on a challenging note for the Laval Rocket. Trailing 3-0 at the end of the first period against the Rochester Americans, the odds seemed stacked against them.

However, in the closing moments of the first frame, an unforeseen twist unfolded. With the Rochester Americans opting for an extra attacker during a delayed penalty, Filip Cederqvist unintentionally redirected the puck into his own empty net. As fate would have it, Rocket goaltender Strauss Mann was the last player to touch the puck before it found the net.

In a rare and somewhat humorous turn of events, Mann was credited with the goal, leading to an unexpected celebration with his teammates.
