As I've watched the NHL for over 30 years, names of future phenoms come out of the woodwork. I could remember watching a game during the first intermission, they mentioned a new hockey player at the age of 7 becoming the next greatest player of all time who was named Connor McDavid.

With all eyes on May 8th and to find out who will get the chance to draft the next greatest player to come in Connor Bedard, there appears to be a new player on the radar that numerous teams have been keeping an eye out for and now that he's playing in the IIHF U18 tournament the spotlight has turned to him.

His name is Macklin Celebrini. A 16-year-old sensation is from Vancouver BC. He currently stands at 5 foot 11 inches and 181 pounds. He plays in the USHL program With the Chicago Steel and played for Shattuck-St Mary's where former Chicago Blackhawk captain Jonathan Toews attended, Sidney Crosby of the Penguins and Nathan MacKinnon of the Avalanche. He's eligible to be drafted in 2024.

With the Blackhawks positioning themselves to become another lottery team next season and their rebuilding phase entering its full swing, it's reasonable to expect the Blackhawks to try to position themselves to get this forward. Players like this are who you build your team around and he will be the next generational player.

It appears that Celebrini will be the new face of Team Canada once Connor Bedard is drafted.
