Head Coach Exposes The NHL's ''Broken System''
The Washington Capitals defeated the Red Wings 4-3 in overtime on Monday night, after the Wings were up 2-0 in the second period, Capitals forward Nic Dowd caught them by surprise when he scored two goals in eleven seconds.
But what if the second goal wasn't legal, and the referee knew it? The puck seemed to look like it hit the netting above the boards, meaning the play should've been blown dead, the referee even had his whistle to his lips but froze for a minute and the Capitals scored.

The Capitals coaches, staff, goaltender and even fans were going crazy after witnessing this, and they are not too blame- a huge flaw in the NHL's system was shown, and Red Wings head coach Lalonde sure let that be known.
I think even the ref knew it hit the netting, That's why he gave us as much time as he did. But it's inconclusive. It is what it is. It's frustrating because it went against us tonight, but the fact that our goalie is adamant it hit the netting, our guys are adamant it hit the netting but we don't get a feed from it? It's a broken system. It is what it is."
This is something that has to be addressed by the league, meaning a change needs to be made of some sort as this would have affected the outcome of the game.
