Much was made when Patrick Kane approached the Chicago Blackhawks asking for a trade to the New York Rangers just before the trade deadline this year.

Kane was a household name for the Blackhawks providing the team with three Stanley Cups and two MVP awards among other accolades. The Blackhawks, however, were moving in an entirely different direction and felt that it was right to move Kane to the Rangers to give him another shot at the cup.

Rumours were also swirling that Kane's health was not up to snuff. There was talk that he had a lingering hip injury that may require surgery in the summer. Well, it appears that the surgery did happen and that his recovery is outstanding and well ahead of schedule.

Charlie Roumeliotis showed in his tweet how Kane's recovery is progressing.

Patrick Kane's rehab process appears to be going quite well. He underwent hip surgery only three weeks ago. This is where he's at already. #Blackhawks

He continues to recover, and Kane will also be looking for a new contract. Only time will tell if he decides to stay with the Rangers or deciding to move off to another team. they certainly have a major decision to make as they have a number of high priority talents and with the cap only going up 1 million this season , it will make it almost impossible.

This free agent is one that many teams will be lining up to try to sign as he still has plenty of gas in the tank to offer teams.

And now the repaired hip, he should be even more lethal than before.July 1st is going to be one fascinating time for the NHL.
