Did you know Connor McDavid was drafted in the KHL? The Russian-based hockey league? Yes, he sure was at the age of fourteen years old, a KHL team selected Connor McDavid with the 77th overall pick willingly known he was not going to play in their league, but for any possibility that McDavid was away from the NHL they wanted to claim his rights, because ''what if?'' right?
''Back in 2014, Medvescak Zagreb selected Connor McDavid with the 77th overall pick in the KHL draft. He's not the only NHL player that has been selected in a KHL draft before. Taylor Hall, Victor Hedman, Zack Kassian, Erik Gudbranson, Jack Eichel and Aaron Ekblad are a few players that have also been selected in past drafts.
None of these players actually suited up for those teams however.''
