Sonny Milano has signed PTO (Professional Try Out) with the Calgary Flames this morning. He is 26 years old, weighs a little over 200 pounds, and is 6 feet tall. He isn't a big body on the ice, but he can move the puck well and make the play when needed.
Sonny was selected 16th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets. Last season with Anaheim, he had 14 goals and 20 assists, having 34 points on the year. The Jackets started him in the NHL in his first year, and that may have struck his growth early. In his career, he has 36 goals and 44 assists, racking up 81 points.
He is still relatively young at 26, but Milano better start showing some signs of growth in this PTO with the Flames, or he may not get a start on the roster.
