A quality that stands out about Connor Bedard is that he is anything but cocky. His parents taught him humility, and he practices it everywhere he goes.

For instance, Bedard will be playing in Tom Kurver's Prospect Showcase in Minnesota this year.

Bedard on why he's taking part in the #mnwild's Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase for the #blackhawks and not staying behind in Chicago: «I want to play. I'm no different (than Chicago's other rookies).»

He could train and rest in Chicago before the upcoming season begins, but he chose not to.

As he would rather lace up his skates and compete in the Minnesota showcase on September 15th-17th.

In the final two days of the prospect showcase, on the 16th and 17th, the Blackhawks will compete.

It is clear from Bedard's thoughts on the matter that he is down-to-earth and eager to share the burden of his peers on the ice as they play the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild over the course of two days.

Due to the fact that Nick Foligno and Corey Perry aren't there to protect him, it seems ill-advised.

Bedard's enthusiasm and willingness to do the right thing, all the time, are admirable.

We just hope he isn't injured accidentally on either day.
