More major news surfaces

According to NHL insider David Pagnotta, a signing is expected within the next 1-2 weeks!!

Kane's agent, Pat Brisson, shared insights with LeBrun, stating,

"We're starting to speak with teams about the opportunities, talking to coaches and GMs. It's kind of like the interview period we used to have for July 1. That's what we're starting to do here."

LeBrun disclosed that the discussions involve reaching out to coaches and GMs, with the intention of limiting the number of teams in the mix to approximately five or six. The process is anticipated to unfold over the next couple of weeks, with Brisson emphasizing a measured approach:

"No rush. We're feeling things out. We're managing it as we get through it."

Kane, who is recuperating from hip resurfacing surgery conducted in June, is reportedly progressing well and is on track to hit the ice this month. Brisson provided positive updates, stating,

"He's looking good. He's feeling good. He's getting closer and closer."

In terms of potential destinations, LeBrun highlighted that Kane is eyeing teams with a chance to win, mentioning the Buffalo Sabres (his hometown), New York Rangers (where he finished last season), and the Detroit Red Wings as potential fits.

At 35 years old, Kane boasts an impressive resume, including three Stanley Cup championships, a Hart Trophy, a Conn Smythe, and an Art Ross. As the hockey world eagerly awaits his return, Kane's imminent comeback promises to be a significant storyline in the upcoming NHL season.
