As it stands there are 2 suitors for Alex DeBrincat
It would have been ideal for Alex DeBrincat to sign with the Ottawa Senators, who were planning to extend him a qualifying offer. However, his agent is currently in talks with two other teams for a trade, which means that option is no longer available.
This must be disappointing for Pierre Dorion, especially since the team had just acquired him last year at the draft.
The Detroit Red Wings, Carolina Hurricanes, and an unnamed team out west are reportedly options for the winger.
Despite having a down year, DeBrincat still managed to score 27 goals and 66 points in 82 games as a Senator.
As he is just now reaching his prime, any team that can acquire him will benefit, despite the complicated contract situation.
