In the latest draft class of 2023, Leo Carlsson has been fined by the NHL. A fine was imposed on the 2nd overall pick for violating the newly implemented NHL rules.
As part of his rookie skate, which involved taking solo laps around the ice prior to the game, he did not wear a helmet.
Take it all in, Leo Carlsson
Players entering the league recently will be required to wear helmets during warm-ups, as the league does away with the last of the old-school helmet rules in 2019-2020.
As a result, Carlsson wanted to take it all in just once, no doubt wanting to feel the air in his flow.

LEO CARLSSON
FIRST NHL GAME!
FIRST NHL GOAL!!!
Aside from breaking NHL rules for the first time in his career, he also scored his first NHL goal during the game.
Prior to Carlsson breaking the rule, the Columbus Blue Jackets Adam Fantilli did, as did Connor Bedard and Kevin Korchinski.
There is no word on whether the Blue Jackets or Ducks will have to pay fines for their first-round draft picks. The Blackhawks, however, did pay the fines.
Could it also be a bunch of veterans pooling cash together to pay their fines as well? We'll never know.
The real reason behind Gary Bettman's fine on Connor Bedard is revealed, and it's not what we thought #Habs #Canadiens #NHL
