There has been a major trade happening before tomorrow's NHL Draft.

The 11th Overall pick has been traded, and instead of moving back in the NHL draft, Kyle Davidson missed his shot.

As the Buffalo Sabres and San Jose Sharks made a deal:

"The Buffalo Sabres have acquired a 2024 NHL Entry Draft 1st-round pick (14th overall) and a 2024 NHL Entry Draft 2nd-round pick (42nd overall) from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2024 NHL Entry Draft 1st-round pick (11th overall)" - Buffalo Sabres

Instead of picking 11th, the Buffalo Sabres have decided to move back into the draft selecting 14th and 42nd overall.

It means, they could've figured out the talent they want is available later in the draft, or they are simply wanting more picks to fill out their prospect pool.

While the San Jose Sharks will add Macklin Celebrini, they have decided to give up on possibly selecting Cole Eiserman, Michael Hage or any other winger projected in the bottom of the 1st round.

The cost to move up in the NHL draft is a bit costly, but the Blackhawks are secure with two 1st round picks: at 1st and 18th overall this year.

It seems likely that the Buffalo Sabres will be selecting Carter Yakemchuk 11th overall, while according to Tankathan's projects former USHL, Chicago Steel Center Michael Hage will be a Blackhawks.
