NHL reveals who won the 2024 rookie of the year Calder Trophy
Just one month ago the NHL had announced three finalist for the 2024 Calder Trophy.
Chicago Blackhawks forward
Connor Bedard, Minnesota Wild defensemen
Brock Faber and New Jersey Devils defensemen
Luke Hughes, are all in the running to be named the NHL's top rookie of the year.
The members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association voted in the finalists.
Bedard, who's 18 years old, entered the rookie season with the most hype out of them all. Leading all rookies in points with 61, despite missing time with his broken jaw.
Faber, who is 21 years old, had a solid so called 'rookie season', despite being 3 years older than the other finalists, posting 47-points as a defensemen.
Hughes posted 47 points as a 20 year old defensemen, the same as Faber and led the New Jersey Devils' defense with the most points.
*Drumroll* and the winner is...
Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard has won the 2024 NHL Calder Trophy, as he should- being the most deserving with the most points out of all rookies, with only 68 games played out of the 82 game season due to his broken jaw.
Congrats Bedsy! Chicago is right behind you!
