Jarmo Kekäläinen is out of a job, mirroring Stan Bowman, both of them regular partners. Bowman, known for making spectacularly bad trades between the Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets isn't living his reputation down.

On the internet after Alex Vlasic signed his 6-year, $4.6 Million AAV contract people reacted or overreacted depending on how you look at the topic.

This led to familiar territory and pain for Blackhawks fans who remember Bowman's tenure near the end.

That isn't to say, that Bowman wasn't successful, given the Cups won during his time here, but his trades at times were questionable.

This led to this fan to speculate, if Bowman was here today he would've traded Alex Vlasic for Alex Nylander, now a Columbus Blue Jacket, the irony of it all.

Bad Trades

Chronicling some of his trades with the Columbus Blue Jackets:

On June 30th, 2015 Bowman dealt Brandon Saad, to the Columbus Blue Jackets for Artem Anisimov, Corey Tropp, Jeremy Morin, Marko Dano, and a 2016 4th round pick.

The only one who stuck around from this trade was Artem Anisimov, who he ended up paying $1.5 Million more than what Saad would get in Columbus. Anisimov had chemistry with Patrick Kane and Artemi Panarin which paid off, but the rest of the assets ended up becoming deadweight later on.

On June 23rd, 2017 the Blackhawks did the unthinkable and packaged Artemi Panarin in a trade, sending him, Tyler Motte, and a 6th-round pick, in exchange for Brandon Saad, Anton Forsberg, and a 6th-round pick.

Let's not forget the Seth Jones trade:

The Blue Jackets received a first-round pick (No. 12) and a second-round selection (No. 44) in the 2021 NHL Draft, and a first-round pick in the 2022 or 2023 NHL Draft for the defenseman.
The Blackhawks received a first-round pick (No. 32, originally belonging to the Tampa Bay Lightning) and a sixth-round selection in the 2022 NHL Draft.
If Chicago's first-round pick in 2022 is one of the top two selections, the Blue Jackets will receive the Blackhawks' first-round pick in 2023.

Fans' grudge towards Bowman isn't unfounded as those two trades above signify everything wrong with his deal-making.
