Tragic loss for the Pittsburgh Penguins organization

Many in Pittsburgh know Stan Savran, who first gained fame on the radio for a 10-year stint before moving on to WTAE-TV.

Stan Savran, Pittsburgh broadcasting legend, delivered some of the best announcements in Penguins history. He was a friend and a true professional at his craft. As long-time listeners, who loved the show, we will miss you, Stan.

Savran hosted pre and post-game shows for the NHL's Penguins and MLB's Pirates on ATTSN, and rightfully earned a place in the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.

Unfortunately, the legendary broadcaster was diagnosed with lung cancer last year and passed away on June 12th, 2023.

His passing has deeply affected many in the sports world in Pittsburgh, including Steelers President Art Rooney II and Sidney Crosby. Fans will sorely miss him.
