The Rockford IceHogs have made announced a roster signing today, with a pick from the 2022 draft.

They have signed Shane Wright's teammate from the Kingston Frontenacs, Paul Ludwinski.
Ludwinski was drafted by Chicago in the 2nd round, 39th overall, and was signed to AHL Rockford for an amateur tryout.
Reading the reviews of Ludwinski reveals that the two-way Center has a lot of promise and is always dialed in on the ice.
If you're looking for a mix of high energy and puck skills, you've come to the right place as Paul Ludwinski is all gas, no brakes. His non-stop energy sets him apart from the pack as he's constantly motoring around the ice every shift. He applies relentless pursuit and routinely catches the puck carrier, forces a turnover, and begins the transition in the other direction. Ludwinski also has solid puck skills and a strong ability to detect open space and time into that opening as a passing option. His work rate and skills make him an intriguing prospect that offers a safe floor and the upside to be more than just an energy player.

Scouting Report: Paul Ludwinski
But there is something happening here that may not lend well to the Blackhawks rushing the 18-year-old into the AHL.... yes, 18.
Have we all forgotten how Kirby Dach's "development" was handled? He was drafted 3rd overall in the 1st round and brought into the AHL right away, before playing 3 games and being brought up to the NHL right away.
Look where Dach is now and ponder if Kyle Davidson shouldn't let Ludwinski develop more in the AHL and gain some confidence.
Not to say that isn't how it'll play out, but if Davidson makes Stan Bowman's mistakes, they'll lose out on another promising young talent, and in a rebuild, you need all the help you can get.
