We do not need to remind you how well respected Eddie Olczyk is in Chicago, from being in the booth all the way to playing for the organization five years, Olczyk will always be known as a great man to all.

Then there was Pat Foley, who flowed so nicely with Eddie Olczyk in the Blackhawks broadcast booth for many years up until this season where Foley would retire, and sadly the Blackhawks did not meet a agreement with Eddie Olczyk on a new contract. The Blackhawks broadcasts are truly not the same anymore!

Eddie Olczyk is a strong man, and he battled through colon cancer.

''I was scared, but I wasn't worried,» said Olczyk. «I didn't want to die, but I (eventually) became very much at peace going through the battle. When I was going through it, honestly, it was okay. If something happens, I'm going to deal with it and I'm at peace. If they came to me and said it's time you've had 51 years on this earth and accomplished a lot. If they told me it's my time, I was okay with that. I think that helped me.

''The most important people in my life have always known how I felt about them. I was always very sensitive to that. I told them: ‘God forbid, you know what you mean to me. If something were to happen, you've made my life complete'.''

These quotes are sure something that brings a tear to my eye personally, and as it is Hockey Fights Cancer month throughout the NHL, Eddie's new team, the Seattle Kraken, decided to put together a emotional video tribute to Eddie where he honoured him during this well appreciated month.

We will warn you, this is quite thee emotional one, prepare your tissues.
