The Chicago Blackhawks had a tough time recently with Corey Perry's contract getting terminated due to some issues, and Taylor Hall's season ended early because of a knee injury that needed surgery. With these setbacks, the Blackhawks had to find new players.

Just before tonight's game, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Vancouver Canucks worked out a deal. The Blackhawks received Anthony Beauvillier from the Canucks, giving up a fifth-round pick in return.

Beauvillier, who was picked in the first round in 2015, brings a lot of experience. He played 22 games this season, scoring two goals and making six assists, adding up to eight points. He also has a good plus/minus rating of +8. He has been in the NHL for nine years and is known for scoring goals, making him a good fit for the Blackhawks.

This trade is a big move for the Blackhawks, bringing in a skilled Canadian forward. He'll play alongside Connor Bedard, another Canadian player, boosting the team's ability to score.

He has a $4.15 million cap hit, and he'll be a free agent this summer, so it's a short-term deal for the Blackhawks. Despite the challenges, this trade puts the team in a better position to face the upcoming games.
