On this day in Blackhawks history, Patrick Kane recorded a hat trick to secure the Art Ross Trophy for most points in a season. It was April 3, 2016, and the Blackhawks were playing against the Boston Bruins. Kane's three goals helped the Blackhawks secure a 4-1 victory and clinch the first place in the Central Division.


Kane finished the 2015-16 season with 46 goals and 60 assists, totaling 106 points. This marked the first time a Blackhawks player won the Art Ross Trophy since Stan Mikita did it in 1967. Kane's incredible performance that season helped him also win the Hart Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player.

Kane has continued to be a key player for the Blackhawks over the years, helping them win three Stanley Cups. His hat trick on this day in 2016 will forever be remembered as a remarkable achievement in Blackhawks history.
