Connor McDavid's wife Lauren Kyle releases gut wrenching statement on the ugly reality

As Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers battle the Florida Panthers in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals, Lauren Kyle is battling something else at home: loneliness.
While it may seem like there's a ton of glitz and glamour being a hockey "WAG", i.e., a wife or girlfriend, there's no truth to the reality of it.
As Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers battle it out in Game 6 tonight, an elimination match against the Panthers, Lauren Kyle made an emotional statement about the weight of the season.
Lost in the stories of the Stanley Cup Finals, the romanticism is the human element beyond the rink. As wives, children, family, and friends remain supportive of their sons who suit up for their teams. Yet, Kyle has burst a bubble about the notion that being related to or being married to a hockey player is a life guided by ease.

She speaks of the struggles we don't see behind the scenes, as players and their families are separated for a significant amount of the year, and could be even longer depending on whether they make the postseason or not.
"There's misconceptions around being a hockey wife and that's just an easy narrative for people to chime into. People assume that it's really easy. Our husbands are playing hockey, making money.
But it's actually very difficult. There's a lot of stress. There is such a strain on your family. People don't know about the struggles that are on the inside I just quiet that noise, because there's a lot more positivity than negativity out there."

Despite being her own self-made woman, owning an interior design company, furniture store, and an Oilers merchandising company, it hasn't been easy for her.
She originally met Connor McDavid through her cousin, and didn't know how big of a star he was at first.
Now, she's his wife and has had to learn to cope with the fact that there were more challenges to the lifestyle that she originally understood.
In the midst of her own struggle's she's busy supporting Connor, as the team is playing Game 6, with the Florida Panthers leading the series. Kyle is hopeful the Oilers will win tonight and force a Game 7 to take them home in Edmonton.
Tonight, she and other Oilers players will join her at Bar Trove to watch the Oilers attempt to de-claw the cats and force the series to go to a Game 7, like last year.
