Toronto Maple Leafs fans are calling for action to be taken on Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues after an alleged targeting hit to the head of John Tavares in Game 3 on Friday night.

Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues would deliver a hit on Tavares while the Maple Leafs forward was along the boards, and he appeared to have left his feet.
Another angle of the hit shows the Panthers forward launching from his feet, which would ultimately end up in the hit targeting Tavares' head.
The Canadian broadcast of the game overlooked the hit in a surprising way, which resulted in fans expressing outrage online, calling for action to be taken.
Sportsnet, a Canadian-based streaming company which quite often sides with the Maple Leafs, surprisingly used the footage of Rodrigues' hit to show how good and effective of a game he was having.
Leafs fans do tend to overreact, but in this situation they have every right to as it's quite obvious that it was an illegal check to the head.
This comes days after Evan Rodrigues was penalized for 'embellishment' after being boarded by Maple Leafs forward Scott Laughton.
Perhaps the Canadian broadcast was highlighting the incident to bring more attention to the collision in hopes of the NHL Department of Player Safety reviewing it?
