The Hockey community mourns the tragic loss of 18-year-old team captain

Tragic news has surfaced that 18-year-old hockey player, Christopher Dailey, who played for Gloucester High School, passed away too young, after a head-on crash.
As Dailey would suffer injuries from a head-on crash that happened on Route 128 early Monday morning. The news came after hundreds of people came to show support for Dailey and his family at the Our Lady of Good Voyage Church on Prospect Street.
The event would carry over into the street, and they would pray for healing energy for the 18-year-old forward.
Dailey, who was one ot the top players for the varsity squad, would be Medflighted to a Boston Hospital after the tragic accident happened on the A. Piatt Andrew Bridge on 128 southbound around 1:45 AM.
Included in the accident were three other teenagers whose ages ranged from 18-19, and they would be injured too. This happened only two hours after the city had finished celebrating St. Peter's Fiesta.
Other victims of the head-on crash were an 80-year-old man who was injured in the accident and transferred to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, and was listed in critical condition.
Rich Dailey would go on Facebook and report that his son Chris is currently on life support and won't be recovering from his injuries despite best efforts.
«He is on life-support in preparation for organ donation, but will soon be with the Lord,» said Rich Dailey, who grew up in Rockport where his family has deep ties.
«Although we haven't left the hospital since the accident, we have been overwhelmed by everyone's love, prayers, support and generosity,» Rich Dailey wrote. «Our family and friends who attended the healing Mass at Our Lady's shared that the turnout was amazing.»
The Hockey Community is affected once again as another player is taken way too young before being able to explore his goals in the sport.
We send our deepest condolences to the Dailey family, friends, and teammates who are struggling in this difficult period.
