Chicago Blackhawks to sign Milan Lucic following his approval back into the NHL?
During the offseason, the former Boston Bruins winger has been working out in New Jersey to prep for an eventual return to the NHL, should he be approved.
He's currently ineligible to play right now, as a result of DV Charges in 2003, which were dropped during the summer. Since then, he's been on a leave of absence.
He's since become a UFA and entered the NHL/NHLPA players assistance program.
When Milan Lucic is out of the player's assistance program, he will look to be reinstated in the NHL.
Of course, this could be a great way for Kyle Davidson to add more sandpaper to the lineup, once he's clear.
Last offseason the Blackhawks were interested in acquiring Lucic's talents in order to shore up the team with veteran leadership, to help protect
Connor Bedard.
So, when Lucic is inevitably cleared to return to the NHL, should Davidson offer him a league minimum contract to be a depth piece in the Blackhawks lineup?
