The Hurricanes have officially locked up Taylor Hall following an announcement on Wednesday that will see the former first overall pick stay in Carolina for the next three years.

Eric Tulsky's Hurricanes may still be in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but that didn't stop the contenders from getting an early advantage on off-season negotiations.
«Taylor has proven to be an outstanding fit for our team, and we are thrilled that he is excited to make Raleigh his home for another three seasons,» said Tulsky. «He's been a solid veteran presence in the locker room and a difference maker on the ice.»
The Hurricanes wrote in a in a statement
Hall was dealt by the Chicago Blackhawks this season, and voiced his displeasure in one of his first interviews with the Hurricanes:
«My playing time in Chicago, for whatever reason, was not where I would have liked it to be. So, I was happy to be traded, and I was happy to come to a really good team. They're on a different timeline than my career is right now, so I get it.»
per Mark Lazerus of The Athletic
Hall has since found his footing with the Hurricanes, ranking first among their roster in regular-season power-play goals (4), second in game-winners (2) and third in goals (9).
