Things have fallen apart for one of the most popular Chicago Blackhawks' players over the last couple of years.
Former Blackhawks' goalie Scott Darling has struggled since signing with the Carolina Hurricanes and it came to what could be an end today.
NHL Inisder Pierre LeBrun reports that the Hurricanes have placed Darling on waivers.
The goalie is in his second season of a four year $16.6million contract and he'll likely be in the AHL tomorrow.
After starting the season with an injury, Darling has a 3.14 goals against average and .892 save percentage in the seven games he's played.
This comes after he put up a 3.18 goals against average and .888 save percentage last year in 43 games with the Hurricanes, a far cry from the 2.30 goals against average he averaged during his 75 games over three years with the Hawks'.
We'll see if he gets claimed, but he'll likely be with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL tomorrow.
