Wayne Simmonds Could be Returning to His Former Team
Toronto Maple Leafs general manager reports that forward Wayne Simmonds has been made available, and to all 31 teams in the league. It has been stated the Leafs will not make room to have Simmonds on their opening night roster, but also want to find him a good home.
Dubas stated he will not just trade Simmonds anywhere, but somewhere will he will be happy and enjoy in his remaining years around the league. Could that team be the Flyers?
The Flyers recently announced that forward Zac MacEwen, who was a fan favourite to most, was cut from the roster and waived from the organization, in purpose to have him play for the Leigh Valley Phantoms this upcoming season. MacEwen is a fourth line right winger, who has a right handed shot and plays a game at a physical level.
Who else does that? Wayne Simmonds, who is also a fan favourite in Philly, also has a right-handed shot and is also on a very cheap contract which is under a million dollars. Can Chuck Fletcher redeem his underwhelming off-season with the addition of ''The Wayne Train''?? I personally hope so.
MacEwen even went toe to toe with Simmonds last season, check it out.
