When the Montreal Canadiens drafted Pk Subban in the second round in the NHL draft many hockey insiders questioned this choice. Not because of the lack of talent on the contrary, Subban was loaded with talent some just didn't think his overly energetic style would be a good fit in Montreal.
This included former Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien who when he was hired for a second time, the first thing he did was ban a special handshake between Subban and Goaltender
Carey Price called the "Low Five"
Therrien wasn't a very liked coach by players or fans especially how he would talk to his players. A video has recently surfaced years later showing how disrespectful Therrien was especially to Subban.
Subban was forced out of Montreal because or the heat between he coach Therrien and former Canadiens Captain Max Pacoritty.
Thankfully now the Canadiens have a coach that really cares for his players in Martin St Louis. Everyone has been praising his way of communicating with the players, which is really different from more experienced head coaches.
One thing I can guarantee you'll never see St Louis talk to any of his players in this fashion.
