One heartwarming incident that exemplifies Toews' kindness occurred when an NHL fan named Jake Lieder a new resident of Chicago encountered him at O'Hare International Airport. Toews, waiting for a flight, graciously agreed to pose for a picture with the fan, showcasing his genuine warmth and gratitude.
