This day In Blackhawks history; Blackhawks Dominates the Detroit Red Wings in game 1 of the second round of playoffs.

In the first game against the Detroit Red Wings in the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Marian Hossa scored the first goal 9:37 min into the first period. Nearly a minute later Damien Brunner of the Detroit Red Wings tied the game.

Despite a no scoring second period the Blackhawks came back to score three goals in the third. Johnny Oduya scored a cross bat shot, in order to raked the lead. Three minutes later Daniel Carrillo retrieved the puck from behind the net where Marcus Kruger scored with a backhand shot. To finish off the game Patrick Sharp scored in the final minute with an open net, following his assists in Hossa's and Oduya's goals.

As any strong led game goes, goalie Corey Crawford saved twenty shots throughout the game. That night's win was an eight game streak of wins against the Detroit Red Wings. The Chicago Blackhawks got a head start on what would become a neck and neck series.
