The Blackhawks Make it Clear Who May Be First Traded This Off-Season..
Throughout this dreadful and sad Chicago Blackhawks season they have failed to do one thing that other teams in their position have done. Give their youth a chance whether it is a full time spot or a consistent amount of games, the Blackhawks have failed to do so by calling up their youth for one or two games- or giving them very few minutes while aging/declining players take up all the ice time.
Kyle Davidson made it clear he is taking the full rebuild approach, but Derek King and Davidson hasn't shown it, until last night. Five Blackhawks players have been sat and our youth got a chance to shine. Hopefully the Blackhawks keep our youth in the lineup for the rest of the season to let them develop- because what else do the Blackhawks have to lose?
It took them a seven game losing streak to give our youth a shot, which is quite sad. But if it took that long for them to notice our youth needs a shot, it is clear the players being sat are likely out the door sometime sooner than later.
Gustvafsson, De Haan, Borgstrom, Johnson and Kubalik were all sat and have expiring contracts this off season. All of those names have been in trade talks as of recent, and it has been made clear that De Haan and Gustvafsson won't be here next season.
