With Alex Stalock and Petr Mrázek out with injury, Arvid Söderblom is the only active goalie on the current roster. To fill the space, the Blackhawks signed Dylan Wells to a one-year, $750,000 contract.
The St. Catharines Ontario native is 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds. He's played three games this season with the IceHogs and currently has a .862 save percentage. His overall record is 8-12-3 with a .894 save percentage in the American Hockey League on teams such as Bakersfield, Chicago and Rockford.
Wells was originally drafted in 2016 to the Edmonton Oilers in the fifth round, but he has yet to play in the NHL. It's likely we won't see him play unless Söderblom gets injured before Stalock and Mrázek return.
